Biscuit Plate Dowels

Connolly Biscuit Plate Dowels 6mm (red) and 10mm (green)

Connolly Biscuit Plate Dowels are available in 6mm and 10mm thickness in black, hot-dip galvanised or stainless steel finish.

With pre-installed nails, and V-notches on all sides, they can be easily and accurately installed on conventional formwork, ensuring perfect dowel alignment.

Injection moulded from polystyrene for accuracy and stiffness, the Biscuit Dowel Sleeve minimises the vertical movement across the joint. Biscuit Dowel Sleeves are colour coded to indicate the plate dowel thickness.

Dowel Cradles

6mm and 10mm Plate Dowel Cradle

Connolly Dowel Cradles are produced with either round, square or plate dowels. All dowel cradles are supplied with a de-bonding sleeve to one half of the dowel to allow for contraction. Square and plate dowel cradles also allow for lateral movement.

Manufactured in 3 metre lengths from 6mm wire, dowel cradles are available in a wide range of configurations to suit a variety of slab thicknesses and load requirements. They form a rigid assembly capable of withstanding the harsh treatment they frequently encounter during construction activities. They are easy to transport, handle and install, saving both time and money for the contractor. Dowel Cradles can also be custom manufactured to suit any specific configuration. ​

Universal Dowel Round Sleeves

Additional Information

Connolly Universal Dowel Sleeves are available for round and square dowels, to allow for load transfer across joints in slab-on-ground applications.

The sleeve encases one half of the dowel to de-bond the dowel from the concrete. All Connolly Universal Dowel Sleeves allow for expansion and contraction at the joint. Square dowel sleeves also allow for lateral movement at the joint.

The Universal Dowel Sleeve is equipped with a patented, integrated support leg, which can be adjusted to suit multiple slab heights. This unique feature assists with accurate dowel alignment.

Utilising the patented twist-fix feature, Universal Dowel Sleeves work in conjunction with our range of Key Joints, Expansion Joints, and Straight Up Contraction Joints.

Universal Dowel Square Sleeves

Universal Dowel Sleeve for 16mm square dowel with nailing plate

Injection moulded from polypropylene for accuracy and straightness, the UDS range minimises the vertical movement across the joint.

All our sleeves are colour coded for ease of identification.

Straight Up Contraction Joint

The Connolly Straight Up Contraction Joint is a continuous pour solution for contraction joints in slab on ground applications.

The straight profile guarantees that the load is transferred through the dowels only.

Connolly Straight Up Contraction Joints are a roll-formed galvanised steel section to provide a leave-in-place formwork. The profile is fixed in place using the patented peg and wedge system.


The Straight Up Contraction Joint has pre-formed holes which allow it to be used in conjunction with Connolly Universal Dowel Sleeves (UDS). The Universal Dowel Sleeves are installed in the steel section using the patented Connolly twist-fix feature. The preformed holes will accommodate round dowels up to 30mm diameter and square dowels up to 24mm.

The Straight Up Contraction Joint profile is available in 3m lengths for slab thicknesses from 125mm to 200mm. Custom heights, lengths (up to 3m), and dowel configurations are available on request.

The Straight Up Contraction Joint utilises the Key Joint range of permanent and removable capping and rebate moulds.

Key Joint

Connolly Key Joints are a continuous pour solution for contraction joints in slab on ground applications.

Connolly Key Joints are a roll-formed galvanised steel section used as a leave-in-place formwork to control shrinkage induced cracking. The profile is fixed in place using the patented peg and wedge system.

Our unique tongue profile provides positive load transfer with minimal stepping. For higher load applications the preformed knock-outs allow Key Joints to be used in conjunction with Connolly Universal Dowel Sleeves (UDS). The Universal Dowel Sleeves are installed in the steel section using the patented twist-fix feature.


Key Joints are available in 3 and 6m lengths for slab thicknesses from 100mm to 300mm. Custom heights and lengths are available on request.

A wide range of permanent and removable capping, and rebate moulds are available to be used with Connolly Key Joints.

Flange Dowel Box

Additional Information

Connolly Flange Dowel Boxes are high quality galvanised steel sleeves which allows for expansion, contraction and lateral movement at construction joints in normal and heavy-duty industrial concrete floor slabs.

Designed to be used with Connolly square dowels, the box encases one half of the dowel to de-bond it from the concrete and are available in four standard sizes – 16mm, 20mm, 25mm and 32mm. Custom sizes are also available on request.

With V-notches on all sides, they can be easily and accurately installed on timber and steel formwork, ensuring perfect dowel alignment. The wide flange design ensures the dowel remains square to the formwork during the concrete pour.

Ground Crack Inducers

Additional Information

Connolly Ground Crack Inducers are designed to induce controlled cracking at specific points in concrete slabs. The rigid PVC profile is held in place with the supplied pins and commonly used below Connolly Dowel Cradles. They can be used with a saw cut or Connolly Crack Inducer at the top of the concrete slab.

Ground Crack Inducers

Additional Information

Connolly Crack Inducers are an economical surface crack control strip for small pours and decorative concrete applications. Installed in wet concrete, Connolly Crack Inducers eliminate the need for tooled or sawn joints and protect the joint against the ingress of foreign particles.


Connolly Crack Inducers are a roll-formed galvanized steel section available in 3m lengths. They are available in 25mm and 45mm heights and can be supplied with or without a permanent, flexible PVC capping. The permanent PVC capping is available in a range of colours and comes with a tear-off-strip to allow for a slurry-free finish.

Expansion Joint Cappings

Additional Information

A range of permanent capping and rebate moulds for the use with Connolly Expansion Joints are available to provide the desired finish for the joint.  

Permanent Capping for Connolly Expansion Joints consists of a white rigid plastic cap that clips on top of the profile and permanently protects the joint from material ingress. Above the rigid plastic is a soft PVC capping that maintains its flexibility and moves with the slab. The PVC capping is available in black and grey. All permanent caps are supplied in 3m lengths.

 

Round Dowels

Additional Information

All mild steel Round dowels are cut from AS/NZS 3679.1 – 300 material. The dowels are available in a wide range or dimensions to fit the UDS product range 

Dowels are available in black finish or HDG finish in accordance with AS/NZS 4680:2006

& Stainless Steel Dowels

 

Square Dowels

Additional Information

All mild steel Square dowels are cut from AS/NZS 3679.1 – 300 material. The dowels are available in a wide range or dimensions to fit the UDS product range 

Dowels are available in black finish or HDG finish in accordance with AS/NZS 4680:2006. 

 

Stickyback Adhesive Foamjoint

Additional Information

Stickyback adhesive foamjoint is supplied with one-sided acrylic adhesive.

This reduces job time through faster installation.

It is light, flexible and easily cut and fabricated on site.

It will not bleed, mark or effect other products during storage.

Conform Bitumen Fibre Board

Additional Information

Conform is a homogenous bitumen emulsion fibre board.

It’s a proprietary process that thoroughly mixes wood fibres in an asphaltic binder then forms the fibres into a rigid board resulting in an economical, environmentally safe compressible material that’s stronger yet easier to handle than other joint filling compounds.

Conform is suitable for use with expansion joints in a wide variety of concrete construction projects.

It is ideal for medium to large concrete slab work and other flatwork applications including roadways, footpaths, driveways, patios, airport runways, warehouse flooring, parking lots and curbs.

Conform can also be positioned against concrete forms, at interrupting objects or columns and against abutting structures prior to installation of concrete.

BACKING ROD

Additional Information

Closed cell backing rod is a compressable polyethylene foam rod.

It is used as a backing for cold applied sealants in expansion/construction joints and building seal applications.

It is CFC free, non toxic, odourless and has no adhesion to sealants.

Product uses include as a vertical and horizontal joint filler, window glazing seals, precast concrete panel joints and vibration dampening.

Open cell backing rod is ideal for use with one part sealants.
